The Radiation Therapist administers prescribed radiation therapy treatments while ensuring accurate patient positioning and dose delivery. They also collaborate with healthcare professionals to maintain radiation safety and quality assurance standards.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited radiation therapy technology program and possess at least 3 years of active practice experience. A valid state license and ARRT certification are required for this position.
Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatment in accordance with established protocols. Accurately position patients and deliver the prescribed dose to correspond with the designated treatment plan. Assist the radiation therapy department with patient care, treatment delivery, treatment records, radiation safety, and quality assurance functions. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and compliance throughout the treatment process. Operate and maintain radiation equipment to the highest standards. Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, dosimetry, physics, and other healthcare professionals to deliver accurate and timely treatment. Proficient in the use of radiation therapy equipment and software. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to adapt and excel in a float position, providing coverage across various locations as needed including the hospital setting. Dedication to patient care and safety.
Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program. Minimum 3 years’ experience actively practicing as an RTT. ARRT certification required. Must hold valid state license for radiation therapy. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Work Environment: The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
