Holly is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) team at Carolinas Rehabilitation – Mount Holly. This is a full-time position with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule and no call responsibilities. The role is well suited for an APP interested in helping patients restore function, improve mobility, and return to daily activities through comprehensive rehabilitation care. Where You’ll Work Carolinas Rehabilitation – Mount Holly is part of Atrium Health’s nationally recognized rehabilitation network, providing patient-centered care across a wide range of conditions, including neurological, musculoskeletal, and medically complex diagnoses. The practice supports patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injury, orthopedic conditions, amputations, and generalized debility due to complex medical conditions. What You’ll Do The Advanced Practice Provider will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient evaluation and management of patients with functional impairments related to musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, obtaining detailed histories, conducting physical and functional exams, and developing individualized treatment plans. The APP will order and interpret diagnostic studies, prescribe medications, and implement therapeutic interventions. The role includes close collaboration with a robust interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and support patient progress toward functional goals. The APP will monitor patient outcomes, adjust care plans, and facilitate referrals across the continuum of rehabilitation services. Patient and family education is a key component of the position, with emphasis on diagnosis, recovery expectations, and strategies to support independence and long-term function. Performs minor office-based medical and/or surgical procedures. Writes appropriate prescriptions and administers medications. Orders and interprets daily laboratory and radiology examinations. Determines treatment plan for patient. Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record. Acts as a patient advocate for the population served. Attends, participates and contributes to group/practice meetings and development of policies and procedures when requested. Physical Requirements Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms. Must possess intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity. Must have the ability to react and perform in stressful situations Schedule This position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no call requirements and is based at Carolinas Rehabilitation – Mount Holly in Belmont, North Carolina. Qualifications Qualified candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program and eligible for North Carolina licensure. Candidates must possess or be eligible for DEA licensure. Prior experience in physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopedics, neurology, or a related specialty is preferred but not necessary. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment are essential.
