The Senior Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacy operations including medication preparation, sterile and nonsterile compounding, and inventory management. The role also involves handling controlled substances and communicating with patients while ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and be a Registered Pharmacy Technician. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant pharmacy practice setting is required.
The Senior Pharmacy Technician supports various aspects of pharmacy operations, including prescription order entry, claim adjudication, medication preparation and dispensing, distribution, nonsterile and sterile compounding, inventory management, and the use of automated pharmacy devices and equipment. This role also involves handling controlled substances, communicating with patients, and maintaining assigned work areas. The Senior Pharmacy Technician assesses the age-specific needs of patients and performs all responsibilities in compliance with Tampa General Hospital’s mission, vision, and values, as well as state and federal regulations.
High School Diploma or GED Registered Pharmacy Technician Minimum of 2 years of experience as a registered pharmacy technician in a relevant practice setting. Proficiency in the core systems and tools utilized within the practice setting.
