The physical therapist organizes and conducts medically prescribed therapy programs to restore patient function and prevent disability. They also provide daily supervision of physical therapy staff and ensure the effective delivery of treatment plans.
Candidates must be graduates of an APTA accredited Physical Therapy program and hold a valid Michigan license. BLS certification is required within three months of hire, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Hours may be adjusted in response to workload demands. Low census may be utilized in accordance with hospital policy.
The physical therapist is a licensed Physical Therapist who organizes and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part; assists patients to reach their maximum performance and live within their limitations; Provides for the daily supervision of physical therapy staff in the absence of the Department Director. The Physical Therapist Assistant administers physical therapy treatments to patients, under the direction of and as assistant to the Physical Therapist. Administers active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, and gait and functional training and modalities. The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for carrying out the treatment plan as designed by the Physical Therapist.
