The technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment. They also maintain inventory levels and perform necessary testing on sterilizers to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience in instrument technology or hospital materials management. A Certified Sterile Processing Certificate and current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification are required.

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the care and preparation of surgical instruments and supplies. The technician maintains established inventory levels by checking supplies and equipment. Orders supplies for the area. The technician performs the appropriate testing of all sterilizers and keeps accurate records.
