The Licensed Practical Nurse provides skilled technical nursing care to patients according to predefined standards and a plan of care. They are responsible for performing duties in accordance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and governing healthcare regulations.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing program for Licensed Practical Nursing and hold a current Mississippi LPN license. Applicants are required to maintain BCLS certification and complete de-escalation training within 90 days of orientation.

Job Description: Summary
Position Overview: The Licensed Practical Nurse provides skilled technical nursing care to patients according to predefined standards and a plan of care established by a Nurse Practitioner or Physician. Assumes other duties as assigned. The Licensed Practical Nurse provides care utilizing the MS Nurse Practice Act, the CDC Guidelines for Infection Control, and Singing River Health System Departments of Nursing Plan for Provision of Care, Treatment and Services. As such, this performance evaluation is based on these standards. Expectation is for all performed duties to be in accordance with Singing River Health System procedures and policies, accreditation organization, and governing guidance and publications for health care employees. Graduate of accredited School of Nursing program for Licensed Practical Nursing.
Current State of Mississippi licensed as an LPN required; expanded role licensure preferred.
Required to complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer. Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
