The Certified Medication Aide is responsible for administering medications to residents in an assisted living facility according to state regulations. They must also document resident refusals, order medications, and report any incidents to the charge nurse and wellness director.
Candidates must hold a current Texas Certified Medication Aide license and have successfully completed a state-approved training program. At least one year of experience in an assisted living environment is preferred.
Weekend Overnight Shift: 10:00 pm-6:30 am
Ensure Assisted Living residents receive the appropriate medications (as ordered) at the appropriate times and within the scope of responsibilities of the medication aide as defined by the State of Texas..
Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, family members and support agencies.
May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations or stay on property during inclement weather, Example: Hurricanes.
Report and document resident's refusal of treatments or medications to the charge Nurse and the Wellness Director.
Order medications in a timely manner.
Report any incidents or concerns to the charge Nurse and the Wellness Director.
