The Peer Recovery Coach facilitates recovery conversations and assists members in meeting their personal health goals. They also provide team consultation and respond to critical mental health or addiction emergencies using de-escalation techniques.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and have at least one year of experience supporting individuals with behavioral health challenges. Additionally, applicants must hold or obtain specific Peer Support Specialist certifications within the required timeframe.

The Peer Recovery Coach I engages, inspires, and facilitates meaningful conversations with members served that assist the members to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Recovery Coaches provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS) in which each member’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Recovery Coaches respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for members served experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.
Shifts Available: On-Call | Shifts and days vary as needed
Expected starting wage range is $24.59 - $29.64. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

The Santa Cruz County Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) is a 16-bed locked acute psychiatric inpatient program for adults aged 18+, diagnosed with serious mental illness (SMI), experiencing a mental health emergency and require intensive treatment and support.
