The interdisciplinary research team, directed by Dr. Christina Meade, seeks to understand how drug addiction and HIV infection together impact the brain, and in turn affect neurocognitive functioning. Several currently funded projects utilize multimodal neuroimaging (resting-state fMRI, diffusion-weighted imaging, magnetic resonance spectroscopy) to examine brain structure and function over time. This fellowship will provide advanced multidisciplinary training, including mentored research, manuscript and grant-writing, and conference presentation experiences in a collaborative research environment. This position is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing an independent research career in an academic setting, and the fellow will be supported in the pursuit of independent funding (e.g., NRSA fellowship, K Award).

The position entails planning, executing, and troubleshooting analyses. The opportunity for first-author manuscripts exists, and publication will be encouraged. Education & Experience Doctoral degree with a background in cognitive neuroscience and MRI data analysis is required. Strong programming and quantitative analysis skills are essential. Interest in HIV and/or drug addiction is ideal. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
