Registered nurses function as integrated members of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality psychiatric nursing care. They contribute to the facility's mission of promoting mental health and well-being through prevention, early intervention, and recovery-focused support.
Candidates must possess or be eligible for a Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont and have at least three years of professional nursing experience in the specialty. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred, and candidates must pass all applicable background investigations.

**This position is eligible for full retirement after 20 years of service in eligible positions in recognition of the challenges of front-line mental health work.

As of July 12, 2026, the step 1 rate for pay grade 24 will be $44.60 per hour and the step 15 rate will be $69.74 per hour.

Possession of (or eligible for) licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license AND three (3) years or more of professional nursing experience in the nursing specialty.
Must maintain Vermont licensure or multi-state license as a Registered Nurse as a condition of employment.

Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels and for unannounced regulatory inspections and is considered a condition of employment. The ability to work overtime when required is an essential function of this job class.
