The optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye exams, diagnose sight problems, and prescribe appropriate treatments including eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications. They are also responsible for building long-term patient relationships through education and providing pre- and postoperative care for surgical patients.
Candidates must hold a Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution. Additionally, they must have successfully passed all required optometric state board examinations.
