The Residential Mentor provides empathetic support to young adults, implementing treatment strategies and facilitating experiential therapies. They are also responsible for crisis intervention, maintaining a safe environment, and documenting client interactions.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma or GED, while an associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. At least one year of experience with adolescent populations and the ability to perform physical interventions are required.
Client Support & Engagement: Build positive, professional relationships while supporting clients with daily activities. Treatment Implementation: Consistently apply treatment team strategies to promote client progress. Crisis Intervention: Use de-escalation and crisis management skills to maintain a safe, calm environment. Attachment-Based Care: Provide empathetic, attuned support and constructive feedback to encourage growth. Transportation & Community Access: Safely transport clients to appointments and community activities following safety protocols. Environment & Maintenance: Help maintain a clean, welcoming campus and support clients with chores. Documentation & Compliance: Accurately document client interactions and uphold organizational policies and standards.
Age: 21 years of age or older Education: High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D required. Associates or bachelor's in human services, psychology, criminal justice, or related field is preferred.
