Performs a variety of standard and specialty pediatric diagnostic sonographic procedures with high accuracy and quality. Assists in resolving departmental work process issues while maintaining professional ethics and patient confidentiality.
Requires a high school diploma and graduation from a formal Ultrasonography program or Radiology Technician program. Must hold BLS certification and RDMS-AB certification from the ARDMS.
Performs a variety of standard and specialty pediatric diagnostic sonographic procedures with little or no supervision, accurately, producing quality studies under a variety of conditions. Assists in the identification and resolution of work process issues within the department. Maintains and respects patient's confidentiality. Exercises professional judgment in the performance and delivery of service excellence while maintaining a demeanor complementary to medical and professional code of ethics. Maintains knowledge of, observes, and enforces the safety measures in Environment of Care. Position may involve some travel throughout the regional area.
Education High School Diploma (required) And Program Graduate of a formal program in Ultrasonography that meets the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) qualifications or trained through a Radiology Technician program. (required) Or Associates Degree Ultrasonography (or other Imaging related field) (required) Licenses and Certifications BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required) RDMS-AB - ARDMS Abdomen - ARDMS - American Registry of Medical Sonographers (required) ARDMS In at least one (1) other specialty (preferred) Work Experience Minimum two (2) years Diagnostic Medical Sonography (preferred) Skills and Abilities Must possess sound judgment and critical thinking skills to appropriately evaluate situations and determine the best method for achieving optimal results. Sound knowledge of anatomy/physiology within the perinatal environment. Good communication skills and ability to use proper channels of communication to achieve optimal service and results.
