The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of medical equipment and instruments. They also manage the assembly and storage of supplies according to established hospital procedures.
Candidates must have a high school education or equivalent. It is required to obtain Sterile Processing Department Certification (CSPDT) within two years of the employment date.
St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Sterile Processing Tech I for our Sterile Processing Department. The Sterile Processing Tech I, under the direction of the Manager of SPD, Coordinator SPD or authorized designee is responsible for decontaminating, cleaning, packing sterilizing, assembling and storage of equipment, supplies and instruments according to prescribed procedures and techniques.
High School education or equivalent. Must successfully obtain Sterile Processing Department Certification (CSPDT) within two (2) calendar years of employment date.
Prior SPD and/or Surgery experience preferred, but not essential.
Understanding of instructions and underlying principles regarding the procedures and techniques of processing.
