The Physical Therapist Assistant provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to improve functional mobility and independence. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, documenting daily progress, and educating patients and families on rehabilitation exercises.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program and hold an active California PTA license. Current BLS certification and strong communication skills are required for this role.

Treat patients as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist Implement treatment plans to restore and maintain functional mobility Document daily treatment notes and progress in accordance with state and facility standards Communicate patient progress, concerns, and outcomes with the rehab and interdisciplinary team Participate in care conferences as needed Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized therapy department Educate patients, families, and caregivers on exercises, mobility, and discharge planning Comply with all federal, state, and facility regulations and policies Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program Active California PTA license in good standing Current BLS certification Demonstrated clinical competence and sound judgment Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Excellent communication skills with residents, families, and staff Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Skilled nursing or geriatric experience preferred Work Environment / Setting Inpatient Skilled Nursing Facility Long-Term Care Short-Term Rehabilitation Center Geriatric population One facility location only Why Join Bakersfield Post Acute?
