Responsibilities
Functions as a laboratory professional who performs specimen collection techniques or specimen collection instructions that include; venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection instruction and specimen culture collection instruction Promotes professionalism and interacts with colleagues in a way that promotes a cooperative working environment.
Ensure specimens are obtained in accordance with laboratory guidelines.
Demonstrate proper communication skills to relate pertinent data or information about the patient or laboratory sample to appropriate care provider.
Supports organizational priorities to maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Attains required competency and demonstrates the ability to follow procedural directions and protocols.
Able to prioritize and organize workload and assist other coworkers to maintain productivity.
Follows proper protocols for specimen packaging and specimen transport.
