The MDS Coordinator is responsible for managing the assessment and documentation process to ensure accurate Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement. They work closely with the inter-disciplinary team to support quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with care standards.
Candidates must hold a valid Registered Nursing license in the state of Missouri and have experience with MDS in a long-term care setting. Proficiency in electronic health record systems and a strong understanding of Missouri Case Mix are required.
Description We are currently seeking Full-Time MDS Registered Nurses (RN) who possess excellent organizational, leadership, assessment and documentation skills. MDS experience in a long-term care setting and a Registered Nursing license in the state of Missouri is required.
This RN specialist must also be proficient in electronic health record systems; familiarity with MatrixCare EHR software is a plus. In addition, the candidate must have a strong understanding of Missouri Case Mix, participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits and have the ability to work closely with the inter-disciplinary team to ensure the level of care provided is fully supported in the documentation. This nurse plays a key role in obtaining accurate reimbursement for Medicare under the Prospective Payment System (PDPM) as well as Medicaid reimbursement through the Case Mix System.
