The Coder II is responsible for accurately coding and abstracting patient diagnoses and procedures to ensure proper facility reimbursement. This role requires timely processing of medical records throughout the patient's episode of care.
Candidates must hold an RHIT or RHIA credential and have at least one year of direct coding experience in a hospital or clinic setting. An associate degree is strongly preferred, along with demonstrated competency in Windows-based computer systems.
The Coder II must accurately code and abstract diagnoses and procedures occurring during the patient’s episode of care, in a timely manner, in order for the facility to receive proper reimbursement.
