The LPN works under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide direct, patient-centered nursing care in a clinical observation setting. They assist the healthcare team with illness prevention, wellness maintenance, and the provision of comfort for patients with various diagnoses.
Candidates must have completed a Junior College or Technical school program and hold a current West Virginia LPN license. Additionally, CPR certification is required, and one year of related experience is preferred.
Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time LPN for the Clinical Observation Unit.
The Clinical Observation Unit can have a broad range of adult patients ambulatory and non-ambulatory, that meet initial criteria for observation. The department will serve to provide efficient protocol-based care to patients with well-defined diagnosis or presenting symptoms such as chest pain, COPD, asthma & congestive heart failure.
The Licensed Practical Nurse is to work under the direction of the Registered Nurse to assist in providing optimal nursing care to the patient. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) integrates skills and knowledge to provide patient-centered nursing care to meet the patient needs. Assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. The LPN collaborates with the Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care.
