The Residential Instructor is responsible for the daily supervision, safety, and welfare of consumers in a residential setting. They must implement behavior management programs, document all activities, and assist with daily living tasks including hygiene and medication administration.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and at least two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. A valid driver's license and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds are required.
The Residential Instructor is responsible for the daily aspects of consumer supervision and program operations. Ensures all consumer progress is followed accurately and in a timely manner. Implements all Agency policies and procedures pertaining to the safety and welfare of the consumers and Agency property. Provides a fun, safe and healthy environment for the individuals.
Minimum possession of a High School Diploma or a G.E.D. Minimum two years experience working with individuals with developmentally disabilities or that are dually diagnosed. Experience requirement may be substituted with education on a year for year basis. Valid drivers license and the ability to be insured by our insurance company throughout employment. Individual may be required to travel in the course of their daily work using the Agency vehicle or their own vehicle. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. The ability to obtain and maintain certifications in CPR, First Aid, PMT and DDS State Medication Administration. The ability to lift up to 75 pounds, transfer and physically intervene with individuals as required.
The Residential Instructor is directly accountable to the Residential Manager or said other person as may be substituted for the Residential Manager.
The Residential Instructor is evaluated by the Residential Manager, three (3) months and six (6) months from date in position and annually thereafter.
