The Central Sterile Tech is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment. They collaborate with perioperative nursing staff to ensure sterile sets and case carts are provided accurately and on time.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and have completed a Central Sterile Tech program. Alternatively, applicants with 3 years of relevant experience in a central sterile environment are eligible to apply.
Overview Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner. Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Education H.S.
