Role Overview MHMRCV is seeking a professional and dedicated PRN Nurse (LVN or RN) to provide comprehensive nursing services. Under the direction of a licensed physician, the incumbent will deliver medication services in strict accordance with all applicable state laws and regulations. Duties & Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment: Perform AIMS assessments, TB testing, and nursing evaluations to monitor and maintain patient health. Medication Management: Administer and monitor medications; manage refill requests and facilitate prior authorizations. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Support HCS, TxHmL, and GR nursing staff in completing medical staffing reports and providing results from external medical professionals. Administrative Oversight: Participate in the development and revision of treatment plans and conduct formal death reviews as required. Education & Advocacy: Provide instruction to consumers and staff regarding proper medical techniques and facilitate referrals for appropriate medical services. Education, Training, & Experience Education: Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program or a Bachelor/Associate degree in Nursing (RN).
Licensure
Current, unrestricted license to practice as an LVN or RN in the State of Texas.
Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) is preferred.
Technical
Proficiency: Demonstrated efficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office and computerized Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Essential Competencies Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently. Advanced verbal and written communication skills to effectively interface with clients, families, and medical staff. A collaborative approach to interdisciplinary care team participation. Requirements Valid Texas Driver’s License with a driving record that meets the Center’s insurability standards (maximum of 3 moving violations within the last 3 years).
