The clinical laboratory assistant is responsible for receiving, processing, and preparing laboratory specimens for analysis using various instruments. Additionally, the role involves performing waived testing, managing the tube system, and occasionally conducting phlebotomy.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and have completed an approved Phlebotomy or Medical Assisting program. Previous clinical experience and knowledge of medical terminology and lab processes are required.

Serves as a clinical laboratory assistant who will assist with the following: receiving specimens into the lab, processing lab specimens, centrifuging specimens, placing specimens on the CBC rocker / mixer, placing CBC’s on the instrument, pouring up urines and placing on the instrument, placing centrifuged chemistry specimens in the appropriate testing racks, processing of send out specimens. This position will perform waived testing. This position will empty the tube system, receive specimens, and answer the phone and direct calls accordingly if they cannot answer the question themselves. Phlebotomy will be required on occasion.
• High school diploma or GED required. Graduate of an approved Phlebotomy training program or Medical Assisting program. Must have excellent customer service skills, prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Completion of Lab Tech program.
Previous clinical experience is required. Moderate knowledge of medical terminology, computer applications, and lab processes.
