The Clinical/Ambulatory Nurse performs independent clinical triaging, facilitates care coordination, and provides patient education within a multidisciplinary team. They also assist providers with examinations, administer medications, and ensure nursing staff compliance with hospital and Joint Commission standards.
Candidates must possess a degree from an accredited professional nursing program and hold a current, active, full, and unrestricted nursing license. U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
Overview Medical Intrument Technologist (Ultrasound) , Tacoma, WA
Major Duties Perform a wide variety of complex ultrasound examinations of human patients to aid in the diagnosis of disease or injury. Explain the ultrasound examining process to the patient. Extend and/or modify the procedure to ensure full and accurate information. Select, set up, adjust, and operate ultrasound equipment. Train radiologists, physician assistants, students, and other personnel in ultrasound principles, procedures, capabilities, techniques and equipment. Perform operator level maintenance and care of equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).OREducation: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Sonography or Radiology. (You MUST submit a copy of your transcripts)ORCombination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (You MUST submit a copy of your transcripts)Preferred: Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with experience in vascular (VT), obstetrics (OB), and/or breast (BR) exams. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
