The Respiratory Therapist Specialist provides patient care in pediatric critical care, step-down, and general care areas, including Kids Care transports. They are responsible for performing respiratory procedures, managing mechanical ventilation, and supporting intubation processes.
Candidates must hold a High School Diploma or GED and be licensed by the ASBRT with NBRC registration or Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) credentialing. Mandatory certifications include BLS, with PALS or ACLS preferred and required within one year of employment.
Overview This position represents patient care directed toward pediatric critical care areas, step down areas, general care areas and Kids Care transports.
Education required: High School Diploma/GED License, certification and/or registration: Must be licensed by the ASBRT and registered by the NBRC or credentialed as a Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) by the NBRC. Certification of PALS or ACLS is preferred for all applicants and in mandatory within one year. Certification of BLS is preferred for hiral processes and required within the orientation period, not to exceed 90 days of hire or transfer.
