The PRN Pharmacist is responsible for accurately compounding and dispensing medications while providing consultative services to clients and healthcare providers. They also support pharmacy operations through administrative tasks, data entry, and maintaining accurate records.
Candidates must hold a current Georgia pharmacy license and possess at least one to two years of professional pharmacy experience. A valid Georgia Driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check and drug test are also required.
Prepare and dispense medications accurately based on prescriptions from authorized medical practitioners. Offer consultative services to clients and healthcare providers regarding medication use and safety. Utilize aseptic techniques to transfer medications into sterile syringes as required. Provide customer support by assisting with inquiries, answering calls, and ensuring professional service delivery. Perform additional tasks as assigned to support pharmacy operations. Input medical and demographic data into the system, assisting in the preparation of reports. Accurately fill medication bottles, affix appropriate labels, and ensure proper documentation. Price and organize filled prescriptions for efficient retrieval. Verify completeness and accuracy of written and phoned-in prescription requests. Minimum Training & Experience: Current Georgia pharmacy license with two years of professional pharmacy experience, OR a master’s degree in pharmacy. Current Georgia pharmacy license with at least one year of professional pharmacy experience. Valid Georgia Driver’s license All applicants must pass a satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test. Provide 2 Professional references (Former employers only, no family members).
Experience in behavioral health pharmacy is beneficial but not required. Retail pharmacy experience is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office or relevant pharmacy-specific software. Ability to accurately read prescriptions, use the metric system for weighing and measuring, and understand basic medical terminology and drug names/synonyms. Physical Requirements: Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
