The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will administer treatment programs and assist the Occupational Therapist with patient assessments and vital signs. They are also responsible for coordinating rehabilitation activities, managing scheduling, and documenting interventions to promote patient independence.
Candidates must hold an associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program and possess a valid California OTA license. A minimum of two years of clinical experience working with frail or elderly populations is required.
What you will be doing: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Administer participant treatment programs as established by the Occupational Therapist. Assist the Occupational Therapist in obtaining vital signs, ranges of motion, and strength testing. Coordinate with other members of the Rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on participants’ individual treatment plans. Handle scheduling of participants’ treatments, clinical visits, and billing. Document occupational therapy interventions in accordance with established care plans including but not limited to the use of devices, techniques, and activities to promote muscle re-education, perceptual-motor and cognitive function, balance, and endurance, and other factors affecting independence in performing ADLs. Experience you will need: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) associate’s degree from an accredited program. Valid California OTA license, or proof of license eligibility. Minimum of two (2) years of OTA experience in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population. OTA knowledge necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs. Our client asked me to submit 3 great people within the next few days.
