The Physician Assistant will provide perioperative care, perform in-office procedures, and serve as a first assistant in the operating room for an adult reconstruction team. They will collaborate with surgeons to optimize patient outcomes and manage preoperative and postoperative care.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited physician assistant program with a Master of Science degree and hold active Illinois licensure and NCCPA certification. A minimum of three years of direct experience in total joint procedures is strictly required.
Illinois Bone and Joint Institute is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join our busy adult reconstruction team in Westmont. Our practice specializes in anterior hip and robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty, focusing on high efficiency and excellent clinical results. To be considered for this position, a minimum of three years of direct experience in total joint procedures is a non-negotiable requirement. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment to effectively evaluate both surgical candidates and postoperative patients. You will demonstrate proficiency in surgical techniques and wound closure for primary hip and knee replacements while focusing on operative assistance, office procedures, and perioperative care.
Independently performing ultrasound-guided knee injections and aspirations (hip injection experience is a plus). Managing a workload primarily focused on outpatient procedures, which results in minimal inpatient rounding. Sharing call responsibilities with another mid-level provider. To promote a healthy work-life balance, this position is designed with a predictable schedule and a manageable call burden that excludes any emergency room responsibilities.
Educational Requirements Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program with completed residency. Physician Assistant IL state licensure up to date Training in orthopedic care preferred Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Active Certification from NCCPA Active Licensure as Physician’s Assistant in the State of Illinois ACLS desirable; current CPR required. Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
