Using sophisticated laboratory equipment, you will look for bacteria, parasites and other microorganisms, match blood for transfusions, analyze the chemical content of body fluids and test for drug levels in the blood.
Your efforts are essential in providing physicians with critical information they need to diagnose and treat patients.

This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working shifts varying between 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will: Receive and accession laboratory specimens into the LIS.
Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens.
Perform specimen investigation procedures to resolve lab specimen issues or problems.
Verify accurate documentation relative to specimen processing.
Maintain patient, specimen and track data using the laboratory computer system, tracking and software/devices.
Prepare specimens for analysis and accept or reject specimens.
Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting and routine maintenance).
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High school diploma or GED One year of lab experience Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Associate’s degree (preferably in Science) (or equivalent credit hours) will substitute for up to one year of experience Physical Requirements: Ability to perform specimen handling techniques and take measurements.
