The Dental Hygienist will perform comprehensive dental cleanings, oral health assessments, and capture radiographs while maintaining accurate patient records. They are also responsible for providing patient education and ensuring strict adherence to infection control and sterilization protocols.
Candidates must hold a degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program and possess an active State of Delaware licensure. Additionally, a valid CPR certification and strong communication skills are required for this role.
Description We are seeking skilled, full-time Dental Hygienists to join our team in our beautiful Ocean View, DE location! The ideal candidate will be passionate about oral health and providing exceptional patient care in a dental clinic setting.
A critical part of the patient's care, Registered Dental Hygienists assess oral health needs, perform basic and advanced dental cleanings, take radiographs and digital images, coordinate future patient care, maintain detailed records and chart notes, ensure strict sterilization protocols, and more. Our hygienists are instrumental ambassadors for our practice, promoting dental health and ensuring patient satisfaction through their expertise and excellent communication skills.
Perform dental hygiene procedures following the dentist's guidance Conduct oral health screenings and assessments Take dental x-rays using medical imaging equipment Participate in recalls, sterile, and other activities adding to the production of the office during downtime Maintain accurate patient medical records using Denticon, Open Dental, or similar systems Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices Assist with general dentistry procedures as needed Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols Patient Education and Communication: Deliver exceptional patient care by addressing concerns and educating on oral health and overall well-being. Schedule follow-up appointments and provide reminders for continuity of care. Health Assessment and Documentation: Maintain accurate medical histories and detailed treatment records. Conduct thorough oral screenings, document findings, and assist in assessments. Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements in recordkeeping. Clinical Responsibilities and Competency: Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, periodontal charting, and capture radiographs and digital images. Administer treatments such as root planing, fluoride applications, and sealants following industry standards. Follow all established clinical Standard Operating Procedures and industry standards of care Sterilization and Infection Control: Adhere rigorously to sterilization and infection control protocols to uphold a safe environment. Team Collaboration and Development: Demonstrate professionalism and collaborate effectively with the dental team. Cooperatively function as an integral part of the patient's care team.
Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program. Active State of Delaware licensure and CPR certification. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Encounter typical work conditions with moderate noise levels and potential exposure to machinery and chemicals. Required to stand, walk, handle objects, and communicate effectively; lifting up to 25 pounds may be necessary.
