The Physician Assistant will collaborate with the attending surgeon to provide comprehensive medical and surgical care in clinical, operating room, and emergency settings. Responsibilities include performing physical assessments, assisting in surgeries, managing treatment plans, and handling administrative documentation.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program, along with NCCPA certification. A current Colorado medical license and DEA registration are required, with 2-4 years of orthopedic experience preferred.
Job Title: Physician Assistant - Orthopedic Surgery Practice: Michael Gallizzi, MD - Robotic and Endoscopic Spine Surgeon Location: Primarily based out of our Vail Clinic - with some travel to our other clinic locations (1 day in Edwards, CO).
The Physician Assistant - Orthopedic Surgery will work closely with the supervising physician to provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for our patients. In this role, you will collaborate with orthopaedic surgeons and other members of the clinical team to deliver exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will be divided between the clinic, the operating room, and administrative tasks, all focused on ensuring the highest quality care and patient outcomes.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university Physician Assistant program accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education required; Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) or a related field from an accredited program. 2-4 years of PA experience is preferred, though candidates with other relevant orthopedic experience and a strong commitment to learning and growth are encouraged to apply (including new/recent graduates). Strong clinical skills with the ability to work autonomously under the supervision of a physician. Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate ethical decision-making. CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: Certification by the National Commission for Certified Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA) required. Registered and licensed by the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners. Current DEA number required. Current certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for healthcare providers required.
