The Nurse will review and transcribe medication orders, monitor compliance, and provide triage and medical services to patients. They are also responsible for performing screenings, supervising LPNs, and maintaining emergency medical kits.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing program with a current NYS license and certifications in CPR, Child Abuse, and Infection Control. At least three years of related experience in providing nursing care for chemically addicted patients is required.

You will have responsibilities including but not limited to: Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff to ensure safe, ethical, and compliant nursing practice Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and/or Medical Assistants/Medical Technicians and/ per-diem staff, delegating responsibilities in accordance with scope of practice. Conduct nursing assessments for new admissions and ongoing clinical reassessments as indicated Perform medication reconciliation on admission and as clinically required. Oversee and document client self-administration of medications in the electronic medical record (EMR) Review, transcribe, and clarify medication orders in collaboration with prescribing providers Provide medication and health education to clients and staff monthly and as needed Facilitate client health education seminars monthly and as needed Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant nursing documentation in the EMR Maintain inventory of client medications, OTC medications, and medical supplies Job Details: Long Island Residential - Queens, NY Full Time-non-exempt Salary range $41.15 - $61.73 QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION Bachelor's of Nursing Graduate from an accredited nursing program LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Current NYS license First Aid Training CPR Training Narcan Training Infection Control Certification Child Abuse Certification REQUIRED EXPERIENCE At least three years related experience Qualified by training, education, and experience in providing nursing care for chemically addicted patients and patients withdrawing from alcohol and or drugs COMPETENCIES Proficiency in nursing assessments Proficiency in medication reconciliation Administration of subcutaneous and intramuscular injections EKG proficiency Proficiency in transcribing medication orders to the pharmacy and or the EMR Obtain and document vital signs and escalate accordingly Oversee the self-administration of medications in a safe manner Knowledge and adherence to universal precautions Narcan Administration Computer proficiency Customer service and satisfaction Professional conduct Communication and Team Work WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in an indoor medical clinical environment. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. Appropriate gloves required.
