Work Shift Day (United States of America) Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Inpatient General Cardiovascular Medicine team at Wellstar Douglas Hospital.
This Weekend Day position offers an excellent opportunity to practice in a collaborative, physician-led environment while maintaining work-life balance.
Position Highlights: Weekend Day schedule only - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 7 am - 7 pm 100% inpatient Established and growing cardiovascular program Collaborative care model with cardiologists, hospitalists, and experienced APPs Supportive leadership and access to system-wide cardiovascular resources Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate the care of hospitalized patients with cardiovascular conditions Perform inpatient consultations, daily rounding, and ongoing patient management Conduct histories and physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans Collaborate closely with supervising cardiologists and multidisciplinary care teams Assist with care transitions, discharge planning, and patient/family education Document clinical encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record (EPIC) Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Current Georgia licensure or eligibility Board certification as an ACNP or PA-C Inpatient cardiology or acute care experience preferred Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills About the Community: Douglasville is a vibrant, fast-growing suburban community located just 20 minutes west of downtown Atlanta.
