The technician is responsible for accessioning and storing surgical specimens and maintaining laboratory files. They also assist in the autopsy room and prepare labels for frozen section materials.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a bachelor's degree in science preferred. One year of experience as a surgical pathology technician is also preferred.
Accessions and stores surgical specimens. Files and stores all materials related to pathology laboratory. Substitutes as needed in the Autopsy Room. Aids and assists in the preparation of labels on frozen section material and in other tasks related to surgical pathology.
Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Bachelor's Degree in Science Preferred or Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree Required
Experience 1 year experience as a Surgical Pathology Technician Preferred
