The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing routine and complex laboratory tests to assist in diagnosing and treating diseases. They must adhere to quality assurance guidelines and manage inventory effectively.
The job requires proficiency in laboratory testing procedures and the ability to exercise clinical judgment. Candidates should be capable of problem-solving and troubleshooting test systems.
Medical Laboratory Technician Responsible for a variety of routine and complex technical tasks in the performance of laboratory tests (Core Lab using Sysmex and Roche analyzers) to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Demonstrates proficiency and follows testing procedures and policies by adherence to quality assurance guidelines for equipment and work area, documenting corrective action to any non-conforming event. Prepares reagents, maintains an adequate supply of materials for test procedures and manages inventory to effectively reduce departmental waste/expense. Exercises clinical judgment in assessing priorities while identifying, problem solving and offering solutions to test systems through the appropriate department channels, i.e. contacts hotline to troubleshoot with a specialist when necessary to resolve the issue or set-up service when appropriate.
