The Ultrasonographer is responsible for performing a variety of invasive and non-invasive ultrasound procedures and documenting patient history and images for analysis. They ensure a safe environment and provide technical support for the Ultrasound Department.

Requirements
Graduate of AMA approved School of Ultrasound. Must be able to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age group patients treated. Registered or Registry Eligible Excellent skills in performing abdomen, OB/GYNE, Endorectal, and Small Parts ultrasound exams. Excellent knowledge in pathology in the named above. ARDMS or Eligible CPR Certification Requires good judgment, needs to be responsible, reliable, and work independently. Need to be flexible in working hours, and on~call rotation. Needs to have good people skills and patient care skills. If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.
Purpose
To perform a wide variety of invasive and non~invasive procedures by utilizing a wide variety of sophisticated sonographic equipment to aid in the clinical diagnosis. To record and document images, history, and other pertinent clinical information for analysis and interpretation by the radiologists.
Accountabilities
Performance of a comprehensive array of sophisticated invasive and non~invasive procedures demonstrating the appropriate anatomy of interest. Documentation of patient history. Ensures a secure and safe patient and work environment by maintaining a continued awareness of safety hazard labels, pathology specimens, complete laboratory requisitions, and delivers to appropriate department areas. Provides technical support for smooth and efficient operation of the Ultrasound Department. Responsible for staying abreast with the latest ultrasound developments.
