The Oncology Nurse Navigator assists patients and families in overcoming healthcare barriers by providing education, resources, and referrals throughout the cancer care continuum. They serve as a primary point of contact and advocate to facilitate informed decision-making and multidisciplinary care coordination.
Candidates must hold an Associate's degree from an accredited nursing program and possess at least 3 years of oncology nursing experience. A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required.
JOB SUMMARY This job will assist the patient, family and care giver to overcome healthcare barriers (including but not limited to social, financial, or physical barriers.) Responsible for conducting on-going assessments of need and facilitate referrals to additional Support Services throughout the Oncology continuum of care. Using the nursing process and evidence based knowledge, the Oncology Nurse Navigator provides education and resources to facilitate informed decision making (by the patient and/or family.)

Required Education Associate's Degree Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program either by a governmental authority, nursing board, or by a licensing authority that has jurisdiction over approval/accreditation of nursing programs (Texas BON 217.1) Experience 3 years oncology nursing experience Licenses and Certifications (RN) REGISTERED NURSE and (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC), are required. and Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
