Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures such as catheterizations and stent placements. Monitor patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic status while maintaining sterile technique and documenting care in the electronic medical record.
Requires a graduate of an accredited nursing program with at least one year of critical care experience and a valid Iowa RN license. Must obtain or maintain BLS and ACLS certifications and be willing to participate in an on-call rotation.
Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, and stent placements Prepare patients pre-procedure and monitor them post-procedure for complications Assist physicians and the interdisciplinary team during procedures Administer medications and moderate sedation per hospital protocols Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic status Maintain sterile technique and ensure patient safety at all times Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record Participate in on-call rotation as required
Education: Graduate of accredited nursing program. Must obtain BSN within 12 years of hire Experience: One (1) year of experience in a critical care setting Certification/License: Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within three (3) months from date of hire Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or within one (1) year from date of hire
