The Medical Assistant will provide direct patient care, assist providers with medical procedures, and perform essential clinical tasks such as taking vitals and administering injections. They are also responsible for maintaining exam rooms, managing supplies, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and completion of a clinical medical assistant program with an externship. A minimum of one year of back-office experience and current BLS/CPR certification are required.
As a Medical Assistant (MA) at Santa Cruz Community Health, you will be a key member of the Care Team, providing excellent patient service and supporting the patient-centered medical home (PCMH) model. Your duties will include preparing charts, rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs, assisting providers during exams, performing lab tasks, and educating patients. This role requires strong critical thinking, clinical skills, patient communication, organization, and time management.
