The staff nurse manages patient-centered care by assessing needs, developing care plans, and implementing evidence-based nursing interventions. They also assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve patient outcomes.
Candidates must be graduates of an NLN-accredited School of Nursing with a current Illinois RN license and BLS certification. An Associate Degree in Nursing is required, with a commitment to enroll in and complete a BSN program within 30 months of hire.

A staff nurse is a registered professional nurse (RN) who manages patient-centered care that is outcome-directed. Patient-centered care principles and professional nursing practice standards provide the foundation for the nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care provided. The staff nurse assumes the primary responsibility and accountability for all patient care personally provided and that provided by those directly under her/his supervision.

Compensation & Benefits Overview
UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
