The MRI technologist prepares patients and operates magnetic resonance equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic scans. They ensure patient safety, comfort, and adherence to departmental protocols while maintaining equipment and sterile fields.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be a graduate of an accredited school for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Registration with ARRT or ARMRIT is required or must be obtained within 12 months of the start date.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. 2 Year/Associate's Degree preferred. Graduate of ARRT- approved Radiography Program.
1 year of experience in CT preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
Follows and supports OSHA regulations and uses universal precautions when required. Cleans examination surfaces between patients. Provides clean linen including sheets, gowns, pillowcases, and towels. Immediately cleans spills following universal precautions. Properly stores accessory equipment when not in use.
