The Life Enrichment Coordinator assesses, plans, and implements therapeutic programs to enhance the intellectual, social, and physical well-being of residents. They are also responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance through accurate medical record documentation and participation in interdisciplinary team conferences.
The position requires an Associate of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, or a related field with less than one year of experience. A Bachelor of Science degree and one year of experience are preferred.
Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and conduct programs pertinent to the interests and needs of the individual resident: Initiates and takes responsibility for structured and unstructured programs in the areas of intellectual, social, emotional, physical, cultural, intergenerational, educational, creative, and spiritual stimulation. Programs are planned and discussed with team at least one month prior to implementation. Thoroughly recruits residents and conducts programs as scheduled. Arranges all necessary program responsibilities and supplies on a timely basis. Evaluates the therapeutic value of group programs and outings regularly and timely when requested by Director. Plans and implements community outings and special events. Takes responsibility for notifying residents of upcoming opportunities. Actively involves self in the continued growth of the 1:1 programming. Works in cooperation with Chaplain or local clergy. Maintains compliance with state and federal regulations regarding medical record documentation and participation: Ability to complete MDS, Assessments, Care Plans, and Progress notes. Complete and update attendance/participation records. Gathers information from other team members as it relates to resident’s progress. Attends and participates in IDT and resident care conferences.
Required Qualifications Associate of Science in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy or related field less than 1 year
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy or related field 1 year CTRS, MT-BC
