The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant will perform preliminary screening examinations and diagnostic tests to assist physicians in evaluating patient eye conditions. They are also responsible for managing patient flow, maintaining exam rooms, and performing clerical duties to support clinic operations.
Candidates must have a high school education and at least one year of related experience in Ophthalmology or Optometry, or graduation from an accredited Ophthalmic Technician program. Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (JCAHPO) and BLS certification are required.
