Family Medicine Physician
The Physician promotes and maintains health by providing medical services to Sunrise Community Health patients.

Position Summary
With a Quality, Customer First, and Compassionate approach, The Family Medicine Physician will:
Provide direct patient care in an inpatient setting. Ensure proper injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
Examine patient and diagnose patient’s injury or illness. Institute therapy or referrals of patient to the appropriate health care facilities, agencies, or other resources of the community.
Determine normal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies, interpreting test results.
Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine patient management and treatment.
Explain procedure and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
Institute emergency measures and emergency treatment or appropriate stabilization measures in situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, and convulsions.
Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
Perform therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations, suturing, managing wounds and infections.
Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, discussing family planning, providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living, promoting wellness and health maintenance.

Prescribe medication for treatment of patient injury or illness.
Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
Monitor patients’ condition and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary.
Provide “On-Call” coverage as scheduled.
Review and respond to patient concerns, reviews patient satisfaction surveys.
FTCA requirements – Comply with requests for information in support of FTCA malpractice coverage.
Adhere to clinical guidelines, performance of PCMH/QI measures.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, advising management on needed actions.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
Maintain up-to-date license, DEA, board certification, and CME requirements for the position.
Team Based Care – Clinical Care Collaboration 1. Work in collaboration and continuous partnership with providers, clinical staff, and community resources in a team approach to promote access to appropriate care in the goal of enhancing patient health.
Pre-Visit Team Based Planning 1. Review daily schedule and chart by care team. 2. Documented instructions are written on the schedule, typed into the EHR appointment note, or in the EHR as a flag or clinical list update. 3. Ensure patient visit is more efficient by identifying:
Records from transitions of care are available during the patient visit.
Results from labs or diagnostic are in the EHR.
Labs or other services that are not specified in the standing orders protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university
Medical Degree (M.D. or D.O.).
Graduate of an accredited residency program in family medicine, internal medicine/pediatrics, or pediatrics
Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Colorado
Minimum 7-10 years related experience as a practicing clinician, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be board certified at hire and will be expected to maintain appropriate board certification, licensure, and membership in professional organizations.
