The Medical Assistant will assist physicians with patient care, including preparing patients for office visits and performing clinical tasks like phlebotomy and medication administration. They will also manage indirect patient care duties such as addressing patient inquiries via phone or EHR and scheduling follow-up appointments.
Candidates must have completed a medical assistant program, a formal military medical services training program, or an EMT program. Additionally, applicants are required to hold or obtain MA certification and maintain current BLS for Providers certification.
Assist with patient care under the direction of physicians. Prepare patients for office visits and procedures. Preforms a variety of patient care activities, such as vaccine/medication administration, phlebotomy, and point of care testing. Provides indirect patient care via phone or EHR by addressing patient questions, processing medication refills and scheduling follow-up appointments. Utilize electronic health record for efficient care.
One year experience as a clinic back office medical assistant preferred.
