Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field and be eligible for LPC or LCSW licensure. Strong communication skills and experience with behavioral health interventions are required for this field-based role.
The Behavioral Health Clinician, Field-Based plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive behavioral health services directly within community settings across the Greater Richmond Metropolitan Area. This position focuses on providing assessment, counseling, and intervention to individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges, aiming to improve their overall well-being and functioning. The role enhances the Office-Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) program and focuses on engaging more clients in addiction treatment. To that end, the clinician will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs. By engaging clients in their natural environments, the clinician helps to reduce barriers to care and promotes sustained recovery and resilience. Ultimately, this role contributes to enhancing access to quality behavioral health care and supporting positive outcomes for diverse populations.
The required skills enable the clinician to conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver tailored therapeutic interventions effectively in various community settings. Strong communication and interpersonal skills facilitate building trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds, as well as collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Organizational and documentation skills ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory standards while managing caseloads independently. Preferred skills such as ability to provide sensitive and effective support to clients with complex needs, crisis management, etc. Additionally, proficiency with technology, including electronic health records, supports efficient service delivery and accurate data management.
