The phlebotomist is responsible for verifying patient information and drawing blood from adult, pediatric, and infant patients. They must also process specimens, maintain accurate records, and follow established quality control procedures.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of phlebotomy experience or completion of a phlebotomy/medical assistant program. Certification from a national organization is preferred.
Verifies request and patient information. Draws blood from adult, pediatric and/or infant patients and processes specimens following established procedures and techniques. Follows in-process quality control procedures. Maintains related records.
