The Histotechnologist prepares surgical and autopsy specimens for pathological diagnosis, including embedding, cutting, and staining slides. They are responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring quality control, and managing specimen identification throughout the processing workflow.
Candidates must have successfully completed a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program or hold a current HT(ASCP) certification. One to two years of experience in a histology setting is preferred.

Prepares Slides From Surgical And Autopsy Materials For Examination By Pathologist For Diagnosis. Must Meet Daily Deadlines For Distribution Of Slides And Work Without Constant Supervision. Must Have Technical Ability And A Strong Sense Of Responsibility Toward The Patient.
EDUCATION Successfully Completed A Naacls Accredited Histotechnician Program Within The Last 5 Years. This Requirement Is Waived For Individuals Who Have A Current HT(ASCP) Certification EXPERIENCE One to two years experience as Histotechnician preferred. LICENSURE American Society Of Clinical Pathologists (Ht-Ascp) Preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS Clear Written and Verbal Communication Skills Required.
