The Monitor Technician is responsible for the continuous surveillance of telemetry monitors to assess and document patient cardiac rhythms. They must identify arrhythmias, communicate findings to the healthcare team, and ensure all monitoring equipment is functional and correctly configured.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and complete a telemetry or EKG interpretation course during the orientation period. Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification is required, along with 0-2 years of clerical or clinical experience in a medical setting.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to operate and troubleshoot telemetry monitoring equipment. Knowledge of patient safety protocols and escalation processes.
