The Registered Nurse will perform assessments of assigned patients, derive nursing diagnoses, and plan interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. They will also provide teaching and emotional support to patients and families, assess the need for home health aide services, and promote a team environment.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing school, with a preference for a BSN. They should hold a valid nursing license in West Virginia and Ohio, have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, and possess proof of liability insurance.
Position Title: Registered Nurse REPORTS TO: Patient Care Manager FSLA: Non-exempt
1. Performs assessment of assigned patients and derives nursing diagnoses based on assessment data.
2. Plans nursing interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to resolve current problems or prevent potential problems.
3. Provides teaching to patients/families to assist in the patients comfort as needed.
4. Provides emotional support to patients/families in a manner that fosters independence and affirms existing strengths.
5. Assesses the need for home health aide services.
6. Assesses and provides palliative care strategies to assist with the patient's comfort.
7. Promotes working in a team environment.
8. Complies with policies and procedures of Hospice of Huntington, Inc.
9. Complies with the Privacy Policies of Hospice of Huntington in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
10. Promotes the philosophy and services of Hospice of Huntington, Inc.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and possession of a valid driver's license.
